It’s the 2 month Mounjaro review. We are talking moving from 5mg to 7.5mg and pounds loss.
After a short break from the weekly Mounjaro review and check-ins, I’m back to talk about my experience using Tirezepatide for the last two months.
The last few months have been life changing, literally. Thank you for all who have sent comments and read my other posts, I want to make sure I am answering all of your questions about using Mounjaro for weight loss.
2 Month Mounjaro Review
I’m jumping right in with my 2 month Mounjaro review. While I haven’t been giving weekly updates, I will at least give update you monthly. Here is where I left off, Mounjaro week 5 in case you need to catch up.
Increase From 5mg to 7.mg
This past week marked a few milestones. Not only have I passed the 2 month Mounjaro mark, I also moved from 5mg to 7.5mg.
Thankfully the transition was nada. It is common to experience Mounjaro side effects when starting an increase in dosage (or starting) – but for the 7.5mg upgrade, I felt the same.
After some trial and error – personally, the stomach injection seems to work best for me. The other factor for me personally that I strive for is hydration and adequate calorie intake before injection day. This means making sure that I have drank enough water and had an electrolyte packet.
Thankfully, the Mounjaro savings card update did not effect me.
No More Food Stress
Something you will often hear chatter about is the lack of your brain thinking about food. In addition to weight loss, if I was to do a Mounjaro review based on benefits this is a huge one.
I no longer have food stress or the thought of what am I going to eat on my brain. If anything, the appetite suppression has me thinking “oh, I should eat something.”
As someone who has overweight most of her life, not thinking about food is monumental.
2 Month Weight Loss Update
Here is the moment some of you have been waiting for. I’ve added a new category to my Mounjaro weight loss table to show you how much I was on, what week and the number of pounds lost.
In the first 5 weeks, I experienced a 14 pound weight loss.
Week | Mounjaro Pounds Lost | Dosage |
---|---|---|
Week 1 | 2 lbs | 2.5 mg |
Week 2 | 3 lbs | 2.5 mg |
Week 3 | 4 lbs | 2.5 mg |
Week 4 | 2 lbs | 2.5 mg |
Week 5 | 3 lbs | 5 mg |
Week 6 | 3 lbs | 5 mg |
Week 7 | 3 lbs | 5 mg |
Week 8 | 1 lb | 5 mg |
Week 9 | 4 lbs. | 7.5 mg |
Total Weight Loss on Mounjaro | 25 pounds | — |
The pounds loss are averaging from 2-3 pounds a week.
Mounjaro 2 Month Weight Loss 25 Pounds Gone
It’s hard to believe that I have lost 25 pounds. It wasn’t until I hit the 15 pound mark that I actually noticed. When I hit 20 pounds, friends took notice.
Now at 25 pounds gone, I am finding more clothes that fall off my body. While I am not ready to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, I did splurge on a few new clothing pieces perfect for the colder weather.
Here is a visual of how much 25 pounds of weight loss is equivalent to.
25 pounds is equivalent to:
- 5 2-liter soda bottles
- 25 soccer balls
- A car tire
- 3 gallons of water
Final Thoughts
That’s it for the Mounjaro review for 2 months. I’ll update again in month 3. It will be interesting to see if the amount of weight loss in week 9 was due to the 7.5mg upgrade or if it was a woman hormones and time of the month situation. Until then, check back as I am continually writing about this!
While the Mounjaro FDA approval is still pending, there is a ton of buzz about Tirezepatide.
Similarly, Eli Lilly in June reported promising results for its experimental obesity drug tirzepatide. During the trial, patients lost up to 20% of their body weight. Currently, it has only been approved by FDA to treat Type 2 diabetes under the name Mounjaro, but it will likely soon be approved for weight loss as well, Kaiser Health News reports.
